We offer flexible and creative chartering options aboard the Bugeye Schooner Jenny
Norman. Private charters may range from two hours to a full day with varied itineraries for
up to twenty-three guests. Our home port is the Atlantic Challenge dock in Rockland,
Maine, but we do make ourselves available for pick-ups and drop-offs at other local or
island docks.
Because each private charter is personal and unique, we like to speak with our guests, get
a feel for the experience that they seek and plan accordingly. Some memorable charters
we have hosted include:
~Lobster dinners, picnic style, while anchored in scenic Broad Cove with a peaceful
sail before and after our meal
~Mid-day swim in Pulpit Harbor on a bright summer day sail
~Circumnavigations of our nearby picturesque islands with some gunkholing along the
way
~Seal viewing on Robinson's Rock
~Homeschooling / educational groups facilitated by an experienced outdoor educator
~Sunset sails serenaded by a Chanty Man or Irish Fiddler
Some groups choose to sail to celebrate special occasions such as anniversaries,
birthdays, weddings, or memorial services (celebration of life). Others choose Jenny
Norman as a venue for their group to gather and be inspired such as knitters, artists, co-
workers and scientists. Still others need no special occasion at all and just gather their
friends and family together to get out on the water and sail wherever the wind may blow.
For those of you considering a charter, please note our schedule of featured public sails
including rollicking musical trips with chanties, songs of the sea and fiddle tunes, moon-rise
dessert sails and Windjammer Watching sails with local coffee and homemade muffins.
Any of these trips can be offered and adapted for a private charter.
We love to plan unique sails with our guests and can provide catering as well. Please do
