Prior to Jenny Norman coming into our lives, we both spent a
great deal of time crewing aboard traditionally rigged schooners
in Maine and beyond.  Mike began sailing in his hometown of
Baltimore aboard the Skipjack
Minnie V in 1993.  He soon
discovered crewing on the Windjammers in Penobscot Bay and
soon thereafter found himself aboard the
Pride of Baltimore II on
her passage from Korea and Japan back to the west coast of the
United States, through the Panama Canal and finally back home
to Baltimore.  Along the way he has spent yard periods
apprenticing under more experienced carpenters eventually
readying him for the rebuild of
Jenny Norman.
A Native Mainer, Julie first began sailing aboard the three-masted schooner Victory
Chimes,
the day after graduating from the University of New Hampshire in 1995 with a
Botany degree. From there opportunities came to sail aboard other schooners in
various places including the eastern seaboard, the gulf coast and around the Hawaiian
Islands. Currently Julie balances a small massage practice at a local
chiropractic clinic
with running
Jenny Norman and being Mom.

Our first sweet baby, Lily Catherine, was born in March of 2005 after our second
season with
Jenny Norman.  In August of 2008 we had a boy, Nicholas Alden!
Although when we began this business, it was Mike and Julie crewing the boat
together, we now invite crew to join us regularly while Julie and the kids sail when all of
the stars line up just right (i.e. warm weather, fair winds and most importantly proper
naps!).
The Bugeye is Jenny Norman and "we" are Mike and Julie Rogers along with our
children, Lily and Nicholas. We came to find
Jenny Norman in 1999 on the Eastern
Shore of Maryland.
