As a family-run business, it is our priority to remain accessible to our guests and
maintain flexibility, allowing us to accomodate unique private charters as well as a
regular schedule of daily public sails.  Our two-hour sails, open to all, are a nice way to
get a taste for traditional wooden boat sailing. Reservations made a few months to a few
days in advance are recommended.  However, if you find yourself down by the water and
would like to get out on the bay, please don't hesitate to call or stop by as we most likely
can find a spot for you.

We have fun personalizing charters with groups of 2 to 23.  If you have a special
occasion to celebrate, or if you want to be sure to get some seatime beyond our local
vicinity, a charter is definitely the way to go.  Timing, group number and itinerary can all
be determined by you, keeping in mind the flexibility needed for a sailing craft and
changes in weather.  We will cater a picnic for you on board and can arrange to have
music, an educator, a notary for weddings or even dove releases.  Contact us by e-mail
or telephone for more information and ideas about our custom charters.

Some of the more memorable special charters we have done include:
•        Weddings and wedding parties
•        Anniversaries & birthdays
•        Homeschool groups
•        Family Reunions
•        Bachelor Parties (but not the girl-jumping-out-of-the-cake variety)
•        Extended sails just for the sake of sailing
•        Personal Enrichment / Educational sails for adults or children
•        Art Classes (sunset provides great light out in the bay)
•        Knitting or handwork circles

On Friday Evenings throughout July and August we feature
Sea Chanties at Sunset.
Bob Stuart joins us with his guitar, banjo and great repertoire of sea shanties and folk
songs of Maine and the sea.  These have been popular cruises with families, couples
and friends.  Often folks pack themselves some snacks and perhaps a bottle of wine
and just sit back, serenaded by Bob and the whisper of the ocean against
Jenny
Norman's
wooden hull.  Although his sea shanties set the mood and remind us of a
bygone life at sea, our favorite tune is about one of Maine's finest summer treats,
strawberry rhubarb pie.  These trips fill up fast so please be sure to call for reservations.

On our
Moon-rise Dessert cruises we'll set out for a gentle evening sail in anticipation
of watching the sun set to the west and the full moon peek up above the eastern horizon.
We will provide a classic Maine dessert and tea for all. Please see our schedule page
for these trips as they are timed in accordance with the lunar calendar.

Select Monday mornings (see schedule) provide a great opportunity to watch the
Windjammers set sail and head out for their week-long cruises.  There are few places
in the world where you can still sail in company with such a fleet of schooners.  We will
treat you to Rockland's finest
old-fashioned donuts (fresh from the Willow Bake Shop)
and our local coffee roaster's
Rock City Coffee.

Watch our schedule for the occasional Parade of Sail and other special events with the
local Windjammer fleet.  A couple of times a summer we all get together for some sailing
around the Rockland Breakwater Lighthouse and Owl's Head Lighthouse at the entrance
to Rockland Harbor.  There may be up to twenty classic wooden sailboats involved - it is
a great photo opportunity!
"We had a great time
sailing with you. It
was the first day of
our vacation and the
Jenny Norman was a
terrific way to start it
off. Your knowledge
and great handling of
the
Jenny Norman
made the sail in 25
knot winds fun and it
looked so effortless.
We were so glad you
shared the story of the
Jenny Norman. She
was meant to be yours
to bring back to life! "
