As a small, family-owned and operated business, we offer a flexible sailing schedule.
Our daily two-hour sails are a nice way to get a taste for traditional wooden boat sailing.
Reservations set a few days in advance are recommended to save a spot and because
we may alter our schedule to accommodate a special event or charter. However, if you
find yourself down by the water and would like to get out on the bay, please don't hesitate
to call or stop by as we may be able to fit you in!
On select evenings throughout July and August we feature Sunset Music Sails. Bob
Stuart joins us with his guitar, banjo and great repertoire of sea shanties and folk songs
of Maine and the sea. These have been popular cruises with families, couples and
friends. Often folks pack themselves some snacks and perhaps a bottle of wine and just
sit back, serenaded by Bob and the whisper of the ocean against Jenny Norman's
wooden hull. Although his sea shanties set the mood and remind us of a bygone life at
sea, our favorite tune is about one of Maine's finest summer treats, strawberry rhubarb
pie. These trips fill up fast so please be sure to call for reservations. (For a sample of
Bob's music, check out his page on My Space - our favorites are "Dandylion" and
"Hang on Jon.")
During our Moon-rise Dessert cruises we will set out for a gentle evening sail in
anticipation of watching the sun set to the west and the full moon peek up above the
eastern horizon. We will provide a seasonal Maine dessert and tea for all. Please see
our schedule page for these trips as they are timed in accordance with the lunar
calendar.
We schedule our Windjammer Watching Sails on select Monday mornings to coincide
with the local Windjammer fleet as they depart for their week-long excursions. We serve
locally roasted coffee and homemade muffins, depart at 10 am and return at noon -
please see our schedule page for specific dates.
Watch our schedule for the occasional Parade of Sail and other special events with the
local Windjammer fleet. A couple of times a summer we all get together for some sailing
around the Rockland Breakwater Lighthouse and Owl's Head Lighthouse at the entrance
to Rockland Harbor. There may be up to twenty classic wooden sailboats involved - it is
a great photo opportunity!
